Beginning Pranayama (Breathing) Workshop

This workshop is designed for participants who are new to pranayama (breath control.) The goal of this series is to teach the following:

  • Why practice pranayama regularly
  • How to use your breath to recharge your battery
  • How to use breath to relax
  • How breathwork can prepare you for meditation

Chakra Workshop

The Sanskrit word Chakra literally translates to wheel or disk. In yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda, this term refers to wheels of energy throughout the body. In this workshop we will touch on the 7 main chakras (the 7th actually being a gate.) We will cover the basics through the eyes of both yoga and it’s sister science –

An Adventures of Super Stretch™ class features stories, games, partner dynamics, animal sounds and laughter. This all adds up to the most important element – FUN! The enjoyment of the classes would be reason enough to teach fitness to children, but the benefits go far beyond. The Adventures of Super Stretch™ offers children the ability to:

  • Develop strength, increase flexibility and improve coordination of both body and mind
  • Teach one to relax completely and improve focus
  • Learn how to breathe well
  • Cultivate healthy habits
  • Raise self-awareness, teach self control and body awareness
  • Build self-esteem and confidence

Where Did My Pelvic Floor and Deep Core Go?

Some areas of health seem easy to talk about, others like our pelvic floor muscles may be viewed as a topic unmentionable. Do you feel like you don’t have core muscles anymore. Or maybe you workout often but still have pain or can’t do exercises you should be strong enough to do. Are there “consequences” unmentionable when you laugh, jump, sneeze, lift your legs in the air, etc? The pelvic floor and deep core muscles are very important to health, and many people experience problems related to this area.  So where is the pelvic floor? What do pelvic floor muscles do? How do you protect and train them? Where are the deep core muscles? These questions and more will be explored this class. This class is appropriate for any fitness level. From a beginner to an athlete. All ages. (Note to mothers: if you have daughters in sports, gymnastics, dance, etc. they will benefit too.) Please bring a yoga mat if you have one. Wear comfortable clothes without a belt. There will be chairs available for those not comfortable sitting on the floor.


Bellydancing: Just for the Fun of It

Love dancing but not too sure you want anyone watching you? Have you always wanted to try bellydancing? This light-hearted session is for any age and fitness level. Even if you are in a chair you can still move your hips and arms and reconnect with the beauty all women have. (For women only.)

How’s My Down Dog

Is Downward Facing Dog pose a resting pose for you? Do you roll your eyes when your yoga teachers tells you to “rest” is the pose. Find out some tricks to make this pose comfortable.

Yoga Inversions

It’s time to flip your world upside down and check things out from a different pwrspective. Scared to go upside-down? Love to go upside-down as long as there is a wall by you? No matter where you are on your inversion yoga journey, you will have fun and learn some new tips in this session. (You must be able to do Downward Facing Dog pose to be comfortable in this class.)

Freeing Your Tight Shoulders?

Do you know if you have tight shoulders? Do you want to get rid of the tightness in your shoulders? We will explore the 6 ranges of motion in the shoulders and see how balanced we are and where we all need work.
